Paint Stock Jeep Rims Black. Not dissing black rims, (well, maybe a little) but showing that spray bomb paint jobs can look pretty sweet. Wheels get hot from the breaks so using a high temp engine or break caliper paint is a good choice. Ok as far as prep work is concerned. I have the stock wheels on my 97 xj and would like to paint them black. Sand the wheel down then wipe it off with paint thiner or something of the sort. I have seen a few posts suggesting duplicolor and krylon fusion. Just like the topic says i'm going to buy a set of 17 inch stock jeep tires/rims from someone to replace my 16's. Since the cragar rims i ordered ended up being the wrong size, i just decided to keep the stock rims. Pics and instruction:easy way to paint your stock rims black. I haven't hear of any problems.
